"The
dancers body is simply the
luminous manifestation of their soul. This is the truly creative
dancer, natural but not imitative, speaking in movement out of self and
out of something greater than all selves"
Isadora
Duncan
"Movement
is the door to learning"
Paul
Dennison
"We have hosted
maestros like Gustavo Naveira & Fabian
Salas at La Rogaia, but your musicality workshops are the best I have
experienced"
Wolfgang Sandt on Steve Morrall's
workshops on tango
musicality at La Rogaia.

As a
Curriculum Team leader with 30 years teaching experience it’s
hard during these events not to slip into ‘Ofsted’ mode and
start to assess the quality of the experience offered. So if I was to
assess a Bramshaw Tango Tangk weekend how would I grade it? Simple, I
would award it top marks in every category - an Ofsted Outstanding!

Immerse yourself in a weekend of Tango
We are proud to present our
2012 dates for Tango Tangk
weekend workshops and social events at Bramshaw.
The
Tango Tangk weekend now provides a
range of workshops to suit all levels of dancers from intermediate to
advanced levels. Please note the event is not
suitable for beginners. WEEKEND FORMAT |
2012
CALENDAR
Alongside the workshops in the main hall with the visiting
teachers, the weekend also offers advanced musicality classes with
Steve Morrall in the dance studio on Saturday. These can be booked as
individual days. BOOK
To make the event more
accessible and flexible in 2012, we have
added pre-milonga drop-in classes with the
visiting teachers on Friday and Saturday night
aimed at improvers upwards.
These cost £10 per person and do not need to be booked, nor do
you need to have a partner.
The new format Tango Tangk offers much more dancing. On Saturday
afternoon the Tango Café
and Saturday evening milonga provide a back-to-back opportunity for 8
hours of dancing! (Buy a combined
café and milonga ticket for £12). There
are milongas on Friday and Saturday evenings and on Sunday there is a
Tango Café from 4pm - 8pm. The new format weekend finishes
at 8pm on Sunday evening.
If you book the whole weekend, you will benefit from four progressive
and themed workshops with the visiting maestros. All our teachers
agree this format is unique in the UK and enables them to delve deeply
into the
technique, style and musicality of this beautiful dance.
The
feedback we hear about these weekends at Bramshaw is always positive -
you can read
more of these quotes for yourself: FEEDBACK.
We try to balance numbers using our booking process. If you want to be
assured of a partner, please make sure you book with one. There are a
limited number of solo places available for the weekend but if you book
with a partner we offer a discounted price.
Once a year, we will
offer the most accomplished dancers a high-level
workshop called a Super Tangk, and admittance to this will be by
invitation only to dancers whose technique, style and musicality have
reached the required level of accomplishment and understanding.
For ladies wanting to improve their technique in order to progress
beyond moving simply as a 'follower' in the embrace, we have two
workshops with beautiful, inspirational teachers, both from Berlin. See
Mabel Rivero in April and Ines Moussavi in September in the schedule
below. BOOKING

Leading Ladies
with Steve Morrall
We offer two 90 minutes sessions as an alternative to the
simplistic notion of 'lead
and follow' in tango. At Tango UK, we teach that the process is much
more about invitation and repsonse. It is a form of non-verbal creative
dialogue and like any conversation it requires context, articulation,
eloquence, expression and knowing when to 'speak' and when to 'listen'
to make it understandable.
You will
learn how to 'talk tango' in the man's role (what other people would
call 'leading'), and you can also gain confidence when dancing in the
woman's role through an increased awareness of what the man is (or
isn't) doing. |
